What if I told you changing your mind about certain things is okay?It does not mean you are necessarily an uncertain person. It just means, you are growing up.Changing your mind is infact a process of growing up.It doesn’t mean you are an undecided individual or any other labelling the society gives.Changing your mind is just part of I didn’t know better, now I know better and If I know better I then do better. Can we just allow ourselves change our minds and just be comfortable with it?Yes.
You my dear, are allowed to change your mind about where you stand when it comes to a relationship,a friendship, your belief system, career path, views about certain vital aspects of life, associations, values, beliefs and every other thing. You should never bow to the societial pressure of life that expect you to think the same way you thought yesterday.No.Once you’ve changed your mind about certain things it’s okay.I’m just here to let you know its okay.I recently watched a conversation that was going round about a certain young man who in he’s prime a few years ago,he went on the record talking about how he does not want children in he’s life but now the young man came back and said,he’s changed his mind about it and that now he doesn’t mind being a Dad at all.I applauded him for that, the boldness to change your mind is something I really admire about human beings.
I strongly also think,Changing minds is usually because of certain experiences in life that we have gone through that shape us.There was actually a season in my life where my world fell apart and as Job said in the bible, the thing I feared the most happened,I was crashed beyond what words could explain, the kind of shock that lives you questioning the whole idea of your very existence in life.I almost gave up,were it not for God and His mercies,I do not think I’d have made it out alive. However, something really strange happened.I really used to be worried about so many things in life, the career path I’d take, who would marry me,would I end up in the country of my desire? What is really my purpose in life?Am I pursuing it and so on and so forth.Things and expectations that would ofcourse worry every young person my age at that time but Ladies and Gentlemen when I came face to face with the reality of this tragedy the only questions I had in my mind was,What happens to my family?Did I spend enough time with them?Did I show up as the best daughter, mother, sister that I could have been? And when I die where will my spirit end up in?Have I lived in the expectations of God?Those my friends were the issues that worried me the most.I would like to say,God was and still is gracious to me,I made it out alive.Glory to God!But then,A lot of things during that time changed in me.A lot.I became infact a very different person.
Now,what matters to me most is my realtionship with God and My Family. The energy I would give to other things I won’t say I wholly stopped getting worried about them but I’d say,I more of surrendered them to God.In the sense that,I really let go of control. And the change has not stopped. It’s an everyday process,I have seen my ideas, dreams, desires, goals, values, beliefs and so on and so forth change every single second.I honestly appreciate that.I do not think the term growth can be defined without the word change. So my dear, let the fear,of what people would think,go.Half the time people do not even care, people have alot to think about. They will just think about you for a few hours and maybe talk about it but at the end of the day,it is what you do think of yourself that matters the most.
So next time experiences in life or you learn something new about an idea,a person, goals, values, beliefs and other things and you desire to change things and how you show up and your path in life but you are scared ,My dear, put the fear aside and change and evolve into someone you will be proud about in a few years to come.I’d also like to warn you though, that change comes with a lot of losses, self doubt, loneliness, sometimes drama but in the long run its worth it.Always remember;Once you know better,Do better and You live everyday but die once;So in whatever you change into ask yourself; When I change things will I be happy with the memory of the new?And if yes,Honey GO for it!and Do Not Look Back!
Sending you warm hugs! You got this!
